The Yolo Backpack for Kids has generously provided over 2,000 filled backpacks to children of West Sacramento.  This enables our families to have their children academically prepared for learning without the financial pressure of purchasing back packs and school supplies which is an invaluable resource.  The families and children are incredibly grateful to everyone involved in this effort.  I commend the hard work of all individuals associated with YB4K.

Thank you for all the work that goes into this great project for kids. I know everyone associated with the foster children’s program in Yolo is deeply grateful for this wonderful opportunity to get fitted up with a new backpack for school each fall.

Backpacks for kids helps establish an even playing field by giving each child a jump start with the tools they need to learn and succeed. I am grateful to Supervisor Matt Rexroad and his team, for our community’s generosity, and proud of our shared commitment to helping each child in Yolo County feel welcome and cared for on their first day of school.
